Lighting in an emergency

A safe work environment with the Harmony Illuminated emergency stop button

An emergency stop button is a mechanism that can be used to stop a machine's operation in one action. Directives require the mandatory installation of an emergency stop button at least at each machine control station. Schneider Electric introduces a new range of illuminated emergency stop buttons that contribute to a safer working environment.

The purpose of the emergency stop is that its use leads to a safe situation. Due to the increasing need for efficiency and safety in the workplace, Schneider Electric introduces a new range of illuminated emergency stop buttons. Additionally, accessories become available to easily upgrade existing emergency buttons to an illuminated E-Stop.

React faster thanks to the illuminated Emergency Stop button

Using a LED ring, machine operators get visual feedback from the emergency stop button in dangerous situations and can solve these situations faster. The purpose of the illuminated emergency stop button is to assist the machine operator in quickly locating the emergency stop button in dark and smoke filled environments.

Seconds can make the difference in a dangerous situation. In addition, the LED ring has another advantage: when using several emergency stop buttons in one room, it is easier to determine which button has been activated. The LED-ring changes from white to red after activation. This saves maintenance staff time looking for an activated emergency stop button.

Upgrade existing emergency stop buttons with a LED ring

Besides the new range of illuminated LED-ring emergency stop buttons, Schneider Electric also introduces the LED-ring as a separate accessory. This makes it easy to upgrade existing emergency stop buttons to an illuminated emergency stop button. The separate ring accessories are compatible with existing XB4, XB5 and XB7 series E-Stop buttons
